Adam Brown

Adam Brown served as the Red Rock Light Tower keeper from 1898 to 1937, the longest span of any keeper in the Parry Sound area. A former fisherman from the neighbouring Mink Islands, he manned it until he was 75 years of age. He passed away in 1968 at 106, his name and role chiselled into the rock beside the tower for posterity.

Red Rock

Red Rock Light Tower, named for the coloured island of rock it's anchored to, not much larger than the structure itself, is an interesting place to visit when the weather and water cooperate. Built in 1911, this is the third incarnation, replacing two previous wooden ones that proved no match against the harsh elements.
